Manny was ten years old when he started his first aquarium. He started
experimenting with fish breeding at a young age, starting with
live bearers and progressing up to egg layers like danio
and betta. After College, he managed the zoo pet store and then started
Angelicus Pet Shop on 68th and Western Ave in Chicago. He was then employed
at the John G. Shedd Aquarium holding such titles as Aquarist,
Senior Aquarist, and Special Projects Animal Care Specialist.
He was hired by the Brookfield Zoo as an aquatics keeper and worked as
a jellyfish breeder and diver.
Manny is currently the owner of
Chicago Aquarium
Maintenance and Consulting and the Aquarium Fish Sanctuary.
He takes great personal interest in the preservation of aquatic
wildlife and its habitat.
